Profile

I live in Byron, a very small town in Western New York. I am married and have been blessed with 5 daughters, 4 granddaughters, and a grandson. After 25 years in the horticultural industry, I now work in the PC/internet world with a small company that I joined in 1989. I plan on retiring when I'm around 110 or so :) Personal interests and hobbies include woodworking, music, ham radio, gardening, reading, philosophy, fishing, and of course computers and technology. Oh, and one other thing! :)

I joined the ODP mostly because I wanted to help some of the small sites in our very rural area get proper listings. Since joining I have gotten very much caught up in the project itself, and those original motives are but a dim memory. I believe whole-heartedly in the idea of a free and open directory, managed by real people. Now, I also have a deep appreciation the the dedicated folks that it takes to make it work. While I am affiliated with many sites, businesses, and organizations, I understand and agree that my responsibility to the ODP is to fairly evaluate each and every site and not just those that I'm affiliated with. Please feel free to contact me at anytime, about anything, if I can ever be of any assistance. To steal a quote from another editor, "Giving to others is giving to yourself". I'm always happy to talk, or just listen, about ODP or anything else for that matter.

The focus of my life is God, family, and other people - in that order. I try to live by the Golden Rule, fall short frequently, and am eternally grateful to the wonderful people in my life with whom I have been blessed.
